Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS), through its Postgraduate Programme in Mechanical Engineering, has initiated a research collaboration with PT Pindad, a leading Indonesian defense and industrial manufacturer. This partnership is part of UMS’s broader mission to foster innovation and contribute to national development through applied research.
Key Highlights:
- The collaboration focuses on advanced materials, advanced manufacturing and defense-related technologies, aligning with PT Pindad’s expertise in military and industrial equipment.
- UMS’s postgraduate mechanical engineering programme brings in doctoral-level research and industry-relevant innovation, particularly in areas like computational mechanics and aerodynamics; materials related, foundry, and metal forming; automotive systems; also rapid prototyping.
- The initiative supports for the internships and industrial research, encouraging synergy between academia and industry.
This collaboration is expected to produce tangible outcomes in the form of joint research, joint publications, technology prototypes, and student internships at PT Pindad’s facilities.
