In a significant step toward advancing industrial research and innovation, the Postgraduate Programme in Mechanical Engineering at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) is seeking strategic joint research collaboration with PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI).
This initiative is implementation part of a broader agreement between PTDI and the Asosiasi Program Studi Teknik Mesin Perguruan Tinggi Muhammadiyah (APSTM-PTM) signed in 2023, aimed at synergizing academic expertise and industrial capabilities to foster technological development in Indonesia’s aerospace sector.
The collaboration will focus on:
- Developing aerospace-supporting technologies
- Exchanging data and research insights
- Enhancing human resource quality through joint training and research
- Utilizing shared facilities and infrastructure for innovation
Prof. Waluyo the head of Postgraduate Mechanical Engineering UMS, emphasized the strategic importance of this prospective partnership:
“This collaboration not only strengthens our mutual research portfolio but also empowers our students and faculty to contribute to national aerospace development.”
With this partnership, UMS reaffirms its commitment to producing world-class engineers and researchers who are ready to meet the challenges of the future through postgraduate programmes in Mechanical Engineering. The joint research is expected to open new pathways for innovation, publication, and industrial impact.
